Weekends and dates at the begining and end of the month fill up quickly Schedule in advance for a specific date
Discuss insurance coverage and options with other members of your household
If you require full coverage insurance, we can recommend third party carriers
Inquire about your homeowners policy or renters insure to see what they can cover
Create a moving binder or folder to keep track of important papers and receipts
Begin packing items that aren’t used frequently (this includes decorative pieces and seasonal and rarely-used items stored in attics or garages)
Go through closets, garage and storage to gather old or unused items (consider selling or donating)
Use a box-labeling system (numbered boxes, color-coding by room, and a master inventory list are key elements)

If you are feeling overwhelmed with packing, now is the time to call us We can provide professional packers to help with as much or as little as you need
Fill out your change of address cards with the post office
Consult your list of businesses, services, credit card companies, etc.,
and schedule address changes across all accounts Make arrangements for pet and child care, if needed
Schedule your utility services ahead of time at your new house and turned off at the old one (leave time for electricity and water services to crossover, so you can perform a final walkthrough of your old home)
Clean all your major appliances
Put deorodizer in the refrigerator and freezer after preparation
Cancel or foward all newspaper or magazine subscriptions to your new home

If you disassemble items yourself, start a small box or bag for miscellanoueso hardware and other items (label accordingly)
Place all refrigerator and freezer items into zip lock bags and put back into freezer
Keep an additional open box or two available for any last minute items

For items that require special handling, please empahsize these items when our movers come
Organize items that should be packed together
For important items that you don't want us to move like medications, checkbooks, etc., please place them in a separate area and communicate to our movers that these items must not be moved (empty closets, bathrooms, and bedrooms work well for these items)

Have an ice chest for drinks and items that require refrigeration Use a floor plan of your new home to show movers where to put large furniture and labeled boxes
Double check closets, drawers, cabinets, bathrooms, storage and attic
Be responsible for your own valuables (jewelry, cash, bonds, etc.)
After everything has been moved, be sure to turn off the lights
Double check that all doors and windows are secured
Take a final walk-through and don’t forget to check the attic, closets and all sides of the house
Be prepared to pay for your services upon completion in the form of cash, check (upon approval) Visa, MasterCard or Discover
